“Since its founding in 1932, Neisson distillery (which is today one of last two family-operated distilleries in Martinique) has gone to pains to preserve the precious Martinican tradition of incomparably complex, subtly aromatic rums. Distributed in a distinctively shaped bottle known among rum connoisseurs as Zépol karé, which is Creole for “square shoulders”, our rums are the product of ancestral know-how handed down and renewed from cane field to aging cellar, generation after generation. The distillery produces Martinican Rhum agricole, which has been awarded the official French quality label known as AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée), guaranteeing that it has been distilled only from pure cane juice, rather than from molasses (by-product of cane sugar production), as is the case of the vast majority of the Caribbean’s industrial rums. Rums with the AOC label cannot be distributed without the INAO certificate (National Wine and Spirits Control Board), which is proof of the appropriate strict production and quality controls. Thus, the authenticity of Martinique’s rhum agricole is quaranteed by multiple checks, and it is the only rum in the world that can make this claim, and that can claim the prestige which derives from it. <a href="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&Lang=French&P5_Language=French" style="font:bold 14px 'Verdana';color:white;"> In order to enjoy our site, you must have the Flash Player.
